Our mission is to enhance the BME graduate student experience by providing both community building and professional development opportunities not available in the classroom and laboratory settings. Our priorities are the following:
(1) build intra-departmental community through academic and community activities
(2) maintain direct and transparent communication between students and administration
(3) provide professional development and networking opportunities that promote skills and experience development critical for successful early-career scientists
(4) encourage active participation in outreach activities with local Chicago youth to inspire a love for science and engineering
(5) support the diverse graduate student body through inclusive and equitable programming and practices
