Welcome to ISRC and West Fairchild!
Class of 2029 + Transfers: Congratulations on your acceptance to Northwestern University! There are so many places you could live on campus, but only a few are better than West Fairchild. It’s a great dorm with a lot of amenities and programming. We have an amazing college staff, dedicated & curious students, and brilliant & engaging faculty fellows.
Our students come from various cultural backgrounds, schools, and locations, but all come together at West Fairchild. If you live here, you’ll get to celebrate International Dinner, our annual winter formal, where residents prepare dishes from across the globe and we celebrate our culinary & cultural diversity. You’ll also get to sing your heart out at karaoke, study with friends, watch international films, participate in making international crafts, and have the chance to go on exciting cross-college excursions to experience the best of Evanston and Chicago’s wealth of cultural, historical, artistic, and culinary opportunities. We can’t wait to have you in our community! 🍍🍍
The International Studies Residential College (ISRC) is housed in West Fairchild, located in the center of South Campus. Many of our events have an international focus, such as our recurring international film night and weekly multicultural munchies. Even though our theme is centered around international studies, you don’t need to major in International Studies to live here! If you love to travel, try new and interesting foods, and learn different languages – or you just like the building location – ISRC is perfect for you!
We are a part of the Residential College Board (RCB), which oversees ten different residential colleges. Choosing a residential college (or RC) means opting to live in a community where living & learning are intertwined in an intentional and meaningful way. Being part of an RC is a great way to get involved on campus, make friends, and form lasting, personal relationships with some of our incredible faculty associates.
