This symposium will mainly focus on the prediction of mechanical properties of micro-scale materials, nano-scale materials, materials with microstructures and (or) nanostructures. Not only theoretical models but also numerical ones are included. Since the interface problem in multiscale materials, for example, micro- or nano-particle reinforced composites, nanocrystalline gradient materials, film-substrate systems, is very important. Characterization of interface properties also belongs to this symposium.
