This year, NCA is sending its largest cohort of Summer Internship Grant Program (SIGP) recipients in its 10-year history across the country and abroad with its funding. The program, which began in 2007, has seen its numbers soar over the years – expanding from 90 applicants and 10 grant recipients in 2007 to 795 applicants and approximately 400 grants recipients this year.

From its beginnings in 2007 with 90 applications and 10 awards, SIGP has grown into a thriving and active program which provides financial support for undergraduate Northwestern students participating in unpaid internships across the globe.

For students who want to get valuable experience from an unpaid internship but need financial support, NCA’s Summer Internship Grant Program (SIGP) can help. Since 2007, SIGP has offered grants to NU undergraduate students to pursue summer experiences in fields that do not typically offer paid internships, ranging from $2,000 in its first year to now more than $3,000. A record-breaking 255 students received grants in 2015. Currently, NCA is accepting applications for its 10th SIGP class through April 5, 2016.
