Movember evokes images of artfully styled mustaches, and overgrown beards for the sake of raising awareness for men’s health. Channeling that same mustached spirit, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and Center for Awareness, Response, and Education (CARE) are collaborating to give Movember a bit of a different spin. Everyone is still encouraged to grow out their ‘staches and beards in No-Shave November fashion, but Northwestern’s Movember strives to raise awareness for men’s wellness and mental health.
Vice President of Student Affairs, Patricia Telles-Irvin, submitted a goal to the President in the spring of 2015 to better understand and strategically think about how to improve the Black student experience. The need to explore and address the needs of Northwestern’s Black students led the Division of Student Affairs creation of the Black Student Experience Task Force.

With fall quarter in full gear, CAPS is here to help with a variety of workshops to ensure your success and well-being at Northwestern. CAPS, the primary mental health service at NU, is offering free workshops all quarter to help students develop life skills important for how to better concentrate and manage stress.
The world is overcrowded with negative media telling people to look and dress a certain way. Every day, folks are encouraged to alter their appearance to conform to societal standards. This February, Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is back with Chicago artist Matthew Hoffman to remind us all that WE are ALL beautiful.
In a collaboration with Northwestern University Health Service (NUHS), the Women’s Center, Northwestern University Department of Recreation & Athletics and Northwestern Dining, Body Acceptance Week is returning February 15–19.
