WHAT IS THE INFLUENCE OF A LARGE-SCALE DEPLOYMENT OF GEOTHERMAL BOREHOLES ON THEIR MULTIPHYSICAL BEHAVIOR?
The GEOTHERMAL CITY project investigates the role of a large-scale deployment of vertical geothermal boreholes on their behavior and performance.
To date, a substantial amount of research has been concentrated on the analysis of the variables that govern the behavior and performance of geothermal systems at the scale of individual buildings.
This project addresses the poorly explored behavior and performance of multiple vertical geothermal borehole fields applied at a district-scale.
The results of this project will advance our basic knowledge of geothermal systems and inspire novel urban planning strategies to deploy in the most efficient manners vertical geothermal boreholes in urban environments.
