André M. Zachery investigates how rituals, expressions and gestures of African Diaspora culture turn situations of impossibility into movements of infinite potentiality through innovation, improvisation and repurposing. Through multidisciplinary collaborative projects, hypothetical spaces are created by looping and expounding on critical practices integral in Black culture considering the complexity, nuance and potential generated from Black life. He develops work that rides the undercurrent of America’s temporal condition while acknowledging historical patterns that could enable generative futures for Black people.
