THOMAS TALAWA PRESTØ: Ancient Power – Modern Use
Thomas “Talawa” Prestø, founder and artistic director of Tabanka African & Caribbean Peoples Dance Ensemble in Oslo, Norway, discusses his scholarship, and how the company and its associated movement technique, the Talawa Technique, works outside the western canon of art production creating highly kinetic contemporary movement drawing from African, Caribbean and Diasporan cultural practices.
