Our team focuses on improving the outcomes and quality of care for children undergoing surgery. Our research portfolio includes quality improvement, patient safety, and value-based care projects. Our research has led to the authorship of more than 100 peer-reviewed publications and over a dozen book chapters, and has played a key role in the establishment of the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program – Pediatric (ACS-NSQIP-P) which is now in place at more than 150 hospitals. Our Mission
Improve Value Based Care
We believe that the pinnacle of patient care exists at the intersection of fiscal value, provider efficiency, and patient well-being. Our work focuses on studying how these forces interact so that patients and providers experience optimal value based care.
Improve Surgical Outcomes
Our group is dedicated to studying surgical outcomes primarily in pediatric populations. Our work covers many disciplines and subjects, including opioid usage, enhanced recovery protocols, and natural history of disease, among many others. We believe in optimizing our standards of practice and finding new and innovative ways to approach surgical science.
