Who we are

The Northwestern Medical Orchestra was founded in the Spring of 2018 by first-year Feinberg medical students. We are proud to have over 100 musicians who are students, faculty, residents, researchers, and staff in the Northwestern medical community. We are still a student-run organization and aim to share our music with patients, friends, and the wider community through multiple concerts every year.

We are still looking for keyboardists to play mallet percussion parts, and string bassists are welcome to join as well. Rehearsals will be on July 2, 3, 9, and 11 with a concert on July 12th. We are also so excited to announce NMO’s first Jazz reading session on July 9th! Musicians are welcome to participate even if not committing to the whole Summer Band. Anyone playing a standard Big Band instrument is invited to sign up for this fun reading of “Birdland.” You can find more details about both the Summer Band and Jazz Reading on the sign-up form.
