Legacy of Praise
May 8, 2021, marks the 50th anniversary of the Northwestern Community Ensemble (NCE). The campus choir was established in 1971 by Eileen Cherry Chandler, L. Stanley Davis, and Clifton Gerring III to fill the void of Black sacred music, spirituals, anthems, and gospel at Northwestern University. Fifty years later, the choir continues to minister to the campus and beyond. We commemorate this historic anniversary with a look to the past and celebrate with an anniversary concert this May and honor the charter members!
