After agreeing to sponsor a project, companies submit a project scope to the program over the summer. The students rank their preferences and the program forms student teams taking student ranking and other factors into consideration. While the Master of Science in Analytics provides both a business advisor as well as a technical advisor, students are responsible for the entire engagement and connect and communicate with the company on their own. The sponsoring company provides a point of contact that will guide the project and serve as liaison between the student team and the company.
At the beginning of the project, the student team writes a proposal which includes project objectives, an implementation plan, milestones, and deliverables. At the end of the project, the students will hand over a final report that includes the analysis and possibly code and dashboards.
