Practicum and Capstone Projects

Practicum and Capstone Projects provide an opportunity for students to apply the skills they’re learning in the program to a real business problem project sponsors face.

Students in the Master of Science in Analytics Program at Northwestern University have been chosen from a highly selective admissions process. The MSiA program teaches its students to become well-rounded data scientists, capable of leveraging machine learning and artificial intelligence to drive business decisions. Students in the program learn how to code in Python and R and are able to calibrate models to troubleshoot training and performance.  They learn how to perform ETL and database engineering, dimensional modeling, and cubes. They acquire knowledge about data streaming and noSQL databases.  While in the program, students participate in two applied projects, Practicum and Capstone.
