Since March 2020, millions of students and instructors adjusted to 100% remote teaching while experiencing an historic pandemic. Rev, an independent speech-to-text captioning service, published the 2021 Higher Education Accessibility Report on the accessibility of learning in this environment. Based on a survey of 294 higher education professionals across the U.S., overall the report shows there has been a greater push for accessibility but with sizable room for improvement. It also includes considerations for faculty as they look to retain remote learning components in courses where instruction becomes more in-person again.
