Northwestern University recently launched GradeSync, a tool that allows you to review, modify, and submit final grades from Canvas courses to CAESAR. This saves you time from manually entering final grades in CAESAR.

A few things to note
- Make sure all students in the Canvas course are also registered in CAESAR. The CAESAR system automatically enrolls students in Canvas courses if they have officially registered for the course in the NU CAESAR system. GradeSync will not send grades from students who you or the course designer manually enrolled in the Canvas course.
- The ability to send grades from Canvas is tied to the instructor’s CAESAR access to grades. No one else may conduct the GradeSync process unless you specify a proxy in CAESAR.
- Once you send grades, the course grades in CAESAR will typically appear in 2-3 minutes. As you approach the grade submission deadline, this delay may take longer as the system accommodates a spike in grade submissions. If you need to change any grades, you can repeat the GradeSync process up to the grade submission deadline (although we highly recommend you account for changes in Canvas before sending final grades).
