MCDC Data science Application for Undergraduates (DAU)

Do you want to apply data science for the common good, in collaboration with a non-profit community organization in the Chicago area, fellow students, and a faculty mentor? If yes, this summer program is for you.
You are eligible to apply for this collaborative program when
- You are a undergraduate student at one of the five MCDC implementation partner universities (CSU, NEIU, iSchool, DePaul, NU).
- If at iSchool, NEIU, or CSU: You have taken two data science pathway courses, or if at NU or DePaul: You have taken three data science pathway courses
- You have taken one practicum, studio, or other project-driven course
Please fill out the form below and note:
- During the summer DAU you will work in a team with one or two other students from one or more partner universities.
- During the summer DAU your student team will work with a faculty mentor and non-profit community organization on a data science challenge or opportunity identified by the community organization.
- The team is expected to work for 20 hours per week for 10 weeks. You will receive a total stipend of $4,000.
- Begin and end dates, working days and hours, and where and how the work will take place if to be determined and agreed upon by all members of the student team, community organization, and faculty mentor.
