MCDC students worked with Project SYNCERE to assimilate and visualize data through renewable, digital dash- and storyboards that facilitate support, participation, informed decision-making, and impact assessment. One public-facing storyboard was developed with Python tools provided by Streamlit. For this storyboard, students scraped annual reports and utilized data extracted from the organization’s Qualtrics accounts. The other, organizational leadership-facing dashboard was developed with Domo.com. This dashboard relied heavily on raw data extracted from both the Qualtrics and Salesforce accounts. Both digital boards can be easily updated simply by updating these raw data extracts.
Project SYNCERE is the 2008 brainchild of three African American men who learned the power of education and technology at an early age. Project SYNCERE’s mission is to prepare the minds of underrepresented students and create pathways for them to pursue careers in STEM. Project SYNCERE provides opportunities for thousands of students who have been traditionally underrepresented in STEM.
