Guild Lounge in Scott Hall – Symposium Panelists, Breakfast, and Lunch Location

Scott Hall (1940), a modified Gothic building designed by James Gamble Rogers, served as the student union for 30 years until Norris University Center was built. It was named for Walter Dill Scott, Northwestern’s president from 1920 to 1939. Today Scott Hall houses offices for the Division of Student Affairs and the Political Science Department.

John J. Louis Hall – Soundscape Showcase Location

  

John J. Louis Hall (1991) contains two sound stages for film and television production, a professional electronic newsroom, computer workstations, and sophisticated video and audio editing suites used by students in the Medill School of Journalism and the School of Communication. The building is named in honor of John J. Louis, a University trustee.

Lutkin Hall – Cabrona Performance Location

Designed by James Gamble Rogers, Lutkin Memorial Hall (1941) is named in honor of Peter Christian Lutkin, dean of the School of Music from 1883 to 1931. (A portrait of Lutkin hangs outside the auditorium.) The simplified Gothic structure was made possible by thousands of small gifts that accumulated over a period of 30 years. The auditorium seats 400 and features a stage paneled in carved oak.

Parking

There is parking available along University Place for visitors/guests with visitor passes.  To obtain a visitor parking pass visit University Police Parking. Public parking is available on Sherman Avenue and there is a public parking garage, Church Street Self Park, at Clark/Chicago.
