Keith Tyo selected for Synthetic Biology Leadership Workshop
Keith was selected for the SynBio LeAP workshop in Washington D.C on Sept. 30 – Oct. 5.
The program is focused on emerging leaders in ‘Synthetic Biology for the Public Interest.’

Dante Pertusi accepted into Biotechnology Training Program
The Northwestern Predoctoral Biotechnology Training Program is an interdisciplinary and interdepartmental program, which provides select graduate students (Trainees) greater research and training opportunities than those available through the individual departments.

Divya Venkat awarded WCAS Undergrad Research Grant and Chemistry of Life Processes Research Grant
Divya was awarded a summer fellowship from the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences for her proposal “Developing a Fast-Acting Readout for a Yeast-based Healthcare Diagnostic.”
The same proposal was awarded a grant from Chemistry of Life Processes. Only 3 awards are made per year for this competitive research fellowship.
