Grace has won a Northwestern Undergraduate Research Grant (URG) for her proposal on engineering E. coli induction using carbon limitation signaling. Congrats Grace!
Keith will deliver the keynote address at the Chicago Area Undergraduate Research Symposium (CAURS) tomorrow at University of Illinois, Chicago.

Lindsay Pietz has won the Cellular and Molecular Biology category at the Illinois Junior Academy of Science (IJAS) Competition based on her work in the Tyo lab. As one of the top 5 finalists from a group of 300, she will compete in the international science fair competiton, Intel ISEF.

Congratulations to Keith for his award on developing novel methods to drastically increase yields in the production of a range of biofuels.
Keith will be giving a talk on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at Firehouse Grill. Keith’s talk “Baker’s Yeast, Biotechnology, and Botswana” will discuss how emerging healthcare technologies will significantly reduced costs. This promises big impacts in low-income countries as well as here in the United States.
