Congratulations to Erika Arvay and Joseph Ni! Erika was awarded the NIH Biotechnology Training Program Cluster Fellowship, and Joseph was awarded the Northwestern Institute for Sustainability and Energy (ISEN) Cluster Fellowship. These are both highly competitive fellowships that recognize their efforts in these respective fields, and will allow them to each participate in various related efforts and training activities at Northwestern. Way to go kiddos!
James Jeffryes wins University Leadership Fellowship
This program provides Ph.D. students with the opportunity to develop their leadership as well as leadership in others. In addition, Fellows are introduced to the major theories, thinkers and frameworks for the study and practice of effective leadership.

Lindsay wins at IJAS Science Fair
Lindsay Pietz has won the Cellular and Molecular Biology category at the Illinois Junior Academy of Science (IJAS) Competition based on her work in the Tyo lab. As one of the top 5 finalists from a group of 300, she will compete in the international science fair competiton, Intel ISEF.

The same proposal was awarded a grant from Chemistry of Life Processes. Only 3 awards are made per year for this competitive research fellowship.
