Data Brief: Overdose Deaths Among Older Adults in Illinois, 2021-2023

This data brief summarizes findings from the Illinois State Unintentional Drug Overdose Reporting System (SUDORS) for 2021–2023, with a focus on overdose deaths among individuals aged 55 and older (n=3,052). Demographic data for individuals aged 15 to 54 (n=6,924) is included for contextual comparison. Data on circumstances surrounding the death, substances involved, and toxicology results are presented for only older adult decedents.
