After completing the second chapter of the novel, students are asked to create a character chart to visualize the interconnectedness of key players in the story.
By Malaika: “I thought about the relationships Refentse had with the characters in the book and connected them all to him. I put a description of each person using where they grew up, what they do for a job, where they went to school, and if they died. I used the same design to connect people with similar relationships.”
By Clare: “The assignment I did was mapping out the relationships of the characters. When arranging the characters I thought about how Refentse viewed each character and added details that he might find important.”
