Pesto Sauce
This is an easy recipe, which can be used as a “sauce dish ” or a “dipping sauce”. You can use it for the gnocchi recipe that we have in our Cook book, or just to give flavor to a piece of bread or cracker.

Serving: 1 small bowl
Time to Prepare: 00:18 (for gnocchi) , 00:15 (for the sauce)
Ingredients
- 2 o 3 cups of Basil, washed and chopped
- 3 or 4 Fresh Garlic Cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoon of Nutritional yeast (ideally Trader Joe’s Nutritional Yeast)
- 2 tablespoon of Olive Oil
Tools
- 1 Pyrex bowl
- 1 medium frying pan
- 1 wooden spoon
- 1 knife
- 1 cup
Steps to prepare
- Add ingredients the basil and the minced garlic into the Pyrex bowl
- Mix them well.
- Add the Olive Oil and toss it with the basil and garlic.
- Add slowly the nutritional yeast and mix it with the other ingredients which they are in the bowl.
- Mix everything.
- Serve with the gnocchi or pasta and boun appetito! (Bon appetite in Italian)
Notes
- You can also add parmesan cheese before you serve the dish.
- You can use a food processor to mix all the ingredients, however, you need to follow the order> basil, garlic, olive oi and the the nutritional yeast.
