Desserts

What a delightful custom it is, to serve desserts !  However, some cultures do so at the end of the meal, some cultures prefer to simply enjoy a liquor or even a demi-tasse of special coffee.  In our Cooking Book, I presented some delicious and easy desserts, some of which we already prepared here in our Cooking class.

“Dessert” derives, ultimately, from Latin, and the verb “servire”, which is, as you can perceive, “to serve”.  And so, “de-servire” means . . to take away the dishes already served, really, and bring to the table a new and surprising treat, delectably concocted — and sweet!

A dessert makes a meal so much sweeter. Literally.
