Smoothie (Licuado or batido in Latinoamerica countries)

When I was little, my mom used to prepare for us delicious smoothies. On one hand because they were healthy, and on the other hand “soft drinks” were very expensive.  I remember I did not drink a Coke until I was 10 years old, and was at my aunt’s home.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole Watermelon/Melon/Papaya (medium or big)
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 cup of ice cubes

Tools

  • 1 electric blender
  • 4-6 cups

Steps to prepare the drink

  1. Cut the fruit in slices.
  2. Peel each slice.
  3. Cut them in pieces of 4 inches.
  4. Put them in the blender.
  5. Turn on the blender and blend the fruit.
  6. Add slowly  the ice cubes.
  7. Add the water.

 

Notes

  • You can use any other fruit such mango, pineapple, etc.
  • When I do the pineapple smoothie I add couple of mint leaves.
