Saturday, May 10, 1969, you could purchase a $2 ticket ($1 if you were a Northwestern student!) to see the production of Wole Soyinka’s play The Lion and the Jewel featuring guest artist Kofi Awoonor, Ghanaian poet, playwright and actor. This event was sponsored by the Program of African Studies and the Department of English, with support from the Elmhurst College Theatre.
