Piezoelectric devices and structures are widely used in electronics and intelligent systems as essential components in forms of sensitive elements and functioning enablers for resonators, sensors, and transducers, to name a few. Usually as a micro- and nano-structure with the core element of piezoelectric solids in the form of beams, plates, and periodic arrays, the analysis of such devices and structures are complicated by the presence of additional elements as electrodes, substrates, covers, mountings, and other functions. Furthermore, such device structures are working at relatively higher frequencies and under loadings such as electrical fields, thermal field, and acceleration with strong effects on the state and behavior of the structure. Clearly, the analysis and measurement of such structures require finer models and smaller set-up dealing with larger amount of data involving multiple physical fields. In this Symposium we want to convene active researchers and engineers dealing with broad applications and technical issues of piezoelectric devices and structures for discussions and presentations on the latest work on the modeling, measurement, processing, material, and optimization from academic and industrial backgrounds. This multidisplinary forum will enable the high impact dissemination of poineering work to a more broad participants.
