310 Mechanics of cytoskeleton

Yuan Lin, The University of Hong Kong

Jin Qian, Zhejiang University

The cytoskeleton, a dynamic network of biopolymers and their associated crosslinking and motor proteins , is responsible for stabilizing cell shape as well as driving cell movement. This symposium focuses on the multidisciplinary nature of mechanics of cytoskeleton: from its microscopic structure to remodeling the mechanical responses and biological functions in important processes such as cell adhesion, motility and mechanosensing.

Keywords: material systems, biomechanics
