I am a materials chemist with expertise in design, synthesis, characterization and device applications. I have worked with scientists and engineers in multidisciplinary teams to solve complex problems in the field of energy and sustainability. I have been particularly recognized for my problem-solving and leadership skills.

In recent years, I have led several groundbreaking projects to identify materials for solar energy conversion. I have developed computational methods for large scale screening of materials for electrochemical device applications. Several concept devices have been built on my proposed designs that produce chemicals using sunlight and air (artificial photosynthesis). Similarly, I have made significant contributions to understanding surface chemistry of Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD), a material deposition technique commonly used in catalysis and microelectronics. We have designed new ALD processes to significantly expand its scope in above applications. In the field of science education, I have designed and prototyped DIY solar cell kits, and conducted over 25 workshops for students, teachers, public and industry representatives in US, India and Saudi Arabia.
