Allen Conkle and Vanessa Dion Fletcher attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago MFA program in Performance, graduating in spring 2016. With a common love for theory, embodiment and bright colors they began working closely as advisors for each other’s individual projects. A Fluxus art history class with Simon Anderson inspired Conkle and Dion Fletcher to collaborate on Veggie Joy, a remix of Carolee Schneemann’s Meat Joy. Allen Conkle received a BA in theatre visual performance from Columbia College in 2000 and later earned an MA in performance studies from San Francisco State University. Vanessa Dion Fletcher received a BFA in Studio from the York University in 2010.
