About

Howdy! I am a third-year Astronomy PhD student and a NSF Graduate Research Fellow at CIERA, Northwestern University working with Dr. Wen-fai Fong. My graduate studies focus on using radio observations to uncover the unknown origin(s) of an exciting class of transients, Fast Radio Bursts, specifically the oddballs that are associated with a persistent radio source.

I’m originally from Fuzhou, China and moved to Tennessee in the United States with my family when I was 11. I’ve always enjoyed reading, and was engrossed in astronomy books in high school. Perhaps a risky choice in hindsight, I decided to pursue astronomy in college without any physics background or knowing what research really is… Long story short, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Astrophysics from Purdue University and here I am!

When I’m not in the office, I really enjoy running, hiking, visiting National Parks in the US, and reading :)
