The Game Awards 2021

The announcements this year in The Game Awards 2021 got me amazed by the number of technical progress games can make. AAA titles such as Hellblade and Star Wars Eclipse left me speechless with the level of realism and attention to detail in such massive projects. In fact, in most showcased trailers and snippets I couldn’t actually see a difference between the cinematic and the actual gameplay. Being able to deliver such stunning images of our favorite game heroes in complex and touching narratives makes me feel truly amazed towards the people behind those big-scale projects, even though I am not a personal fan of AAA games myself.

However, there was a tribute paid to the indie games of this year and as always they are becoming better and better with for example the game the winner of the Best Indie Game Award: Kena: bridge of spirits. The five nominations this year for that award were: 12 minutes, Death’s Door, Inscryption and Loop Hero.
