College Staff

Like all of the residential colleges at Northwestern, Willard has a college staff that oversees the major functions of the RC, and a wide range of fellows who inform and educate the residents of Willard.

Gary Saul Morson, a specialist on Russian literature, practices philosophy without a license and teaches whatever he finds interesting. He has received numerous teaching awards, is one of a handful of faculty elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and won best book of the year awards in two disciplines.

Christine Helmer is Professor of Religious Studies and German in the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences. Committed to building a community at Willard, she is open to discovering the unique perspectives we all bring into conversation as we learn how to be scholars and persons together.

Connor Bain is a graduate student in computer science and learning sciences studying how to help teachers integrate computational thinking into their classrooms. He also works on developing new computational music curricula for students that show how computers can be used not just for solving problems, but also for exploring new possibilities. He serves as the point person for helping us coordinate day-to-day programmatic and administrative matters for faculty-student activities.
