About Wei

Wei grew up in Luojiang, a small town in Sichuan, China. After spending 18 years in the beautiful town, he went to Nankai University and completed his undergraduate studies in Optical Information in the School of Physics. He then went back to Sichuan and finished his doctoral studies at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) under Prof. Junsheng Yu, where he studied organic/inorganic electronics and took research on effects of active layer modification on thin-film transistor performance. During his doctoral training, he went to Northwestern University as a joint student under the supervises of Tobin J. Marks and Antonio Facchetti.  After he got his Ph.D. degree, he went back to Northwestern and worked as a post-doctoral fellow for Tobin J. Marks and Antonio Facchetti. There, he primarily studied next-generation electronics, mainly on transistors. Then, he joined the Faculty at Northwestern as a Research Assistant Professor in Tobin J. Marks Group. His research interests include thin-film transistors based on organic and metal oxide materials, flexible/stretchable sensors, organic and perovskite solar cells. He is addicted to movies and enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 daughters.
