The purpose of this symposium is to provide a platform for the colleagues to share their latest research outcomes and exchange their keen insights into the mechanics of natural biomaterials. Preferred topics include, but not limited to, the extraordinary mechanical behaviors of natural biomaterials, the state-of-the-art approaches for mechanical characterization of natural biomaterials, the novel toughening and strengthening mechanisms revealed from the natural biomaterials, and the bio-mimetic reproductions of natural biomaterials.
