Sean Yue Yan Yeung

MM '19

Sean Yeung is a bass trombonist pursuing his master’s degree at Northwestern University.  He has been voted second prettiest member of the trombone studio (eternally the runner up to Professor Randy Hawes).

Born in Hawaii, Yeung only took a musical interest after moving to Orlando, FL, where he would spend the remainder of his childhood.  He chose to pick up the trombone due to the unique mechanics of the instrument, and slowly began to become more involved in music as he grew older.

Sean Yeung received his bachelor’s degree in music from DePaul University, where he switched to bass trombone.  During his time there, he has studied with Mark Fisher, Charles Vernon, and Floyd Cooley. In the last year of his study, he won an associate position with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.

While he is not threatening to blow away the orchestra or flipping his hair in the strong Chicago breeze, Sean enjoys working out or running various games of Dungeons and Dragons.  Currently, he is running a trombone themed campaign.
