Reid Harman is a bass trombonist from the Chicagoland area. He started his musical journey in the 4th grade playing euphonium. He then moved to Toronto and back, switching to trombone during his sophomore year of high school after discovering that moving a slide was a lot more fun than pressing buttons. Throughout his high school career, Reid studied with Colleen Bayoneto, and has performed in the Hannaford Silver Street Youth Band, Midwest Young Artists Conservatory, the Illinois All-State Honors Orchestra, and the Merit School of Music Trombone Studio. He has performed at the International Trombone Festival twice with the Merit Trombone Choir under the direction of Timothy Riordan, and has placed as a semifinalist at the Fischoff Chamber Competition with his brass quintet, the Renaissance Jazz Hands Project. When Reid is not practicing, he can often be found eating good food or correcting people that spell his name wrong. Reid is very excited to be a part of the Northwestern Trombone Studio!
