Peter Sullivan hails originally from Philadelphia, PA, but grew up in Savannah, GA. He has played trombone since the age of 12 and switched to bass trombone at age 16 to fill a vacancy in the local youth orchestra. Peter started his undergraduate studies at Kennesaw State University, studying with Brian Hecht (then of the Atlanta Symphony), before continuing at Columbus State University under the direction of Dr. Bradley Palmer. During his time at CSU, he performed in the Schwob Trombone ensemble at the International Trombone Festival and later was named finalist in an ITA competition. Peter is now very excited to continue his education at Northwestern University and glean as many insights as possible into what makes Chicago brass playing so unique and outstanding!
