Freshman
Arlo Hollander is a Freshman trombonist from Minneapolis, Minnesota and is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Trombone Performance. He has played trombone since 5th grade, having mistakenly chosen it thinking that it was a euphonium, but has loved it ever since. While in high school, Arlo studied with Carson King-Fournier, and was a member of the Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies (GTCYS) Symphony Orchestra and Minnesota Youth Jazz Bands (MYJB) Jazz 1. In addition to this, he has also performed with the No Limits Brass Choir, University of Minnesota Honor Band, MMEA All-State Symphonic Band, and MMEA All-State Jazz Band, as well as having played in masterclasses led by Mark Kellogg and Sasha Romero. Arlo greatly enjoys playing gigs of all kinds, along with teaching. He is extremely excited to start his journey at Northwestern University and experience all that the Chicago area has to offer. Outside of music, Arlo enjoys hiking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
