Spencer Schaffer is from Portland, Oregon. He has performed and appeared as soloist with orchestras including the Oregon Symphony, Tanglewood Institute Young Artists Orchestra, and Portland Youth Philharmonic. He has also performed with Pink Martini as well as on the TEDx stage. In high school, Spencer’s primary teachers were Charles Reneau and Robert Taylor. He is currently pursuing a degree in Trombone at Northwestern University, where he studies with Michael Mulcahy, Tim Higgins, Douglas Wright, Randy Hawes, and Christopher Davis. Aside from trombone, Spencer enjoys hiking and backpacking in the great outdoors. He is also a swimmer and a yogi.
