Rob Blumstein

Robert Blumstein is currently pursuing a master’s degree in trombone at Northwestern University, where he studies with Michael Mulcahy, Timothy Higgins, Doug Wright, Randy Hawes, and Christopher Davis. He previously studied with Joseph Alessi at Juilliard and received his bachelor’s degree in 2017. In the summers of 2017 and 2018 Robert had the privilege of being a Tanglewood Music Center fellow, where he worked with members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra as well as distinguished faculty and guests.
Robert has performed with the Boston Symphony Orchestra, New World Symphony, and members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra; he is also an associate member of the Chicago Civic Orchestra for the 2018-2019 season. He has played under the baton of Andris Nelsons, Neil Blomstedt, Michael Tilson Thomas, Alan Gilbert, and others, and has also performed with Yo-Yo Ma, Håkan Hardenberger, and Justin Timberlake.
