Our Story
Treblemakers, founded in 2004, is Northwestern University’s award-winning, co-ed, premier East Asian-interest a cappella group. We perform and arrange songs in multiple languages including English, Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, and Cantonese. Our repertoire covers pop hits, rock anthems, jazz tunes, ballads, and more.
Our members come from all over the world, hailing from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, and various parts of the United States. We strive to not only spread Asian music around campus but to celebrate Asian and Asian-American musical excellence.
In 2010, the Treblemakers founded Quad-A (Asian American Acappella Association). Every two years, we would host/attend a weekend conference of workshops and performances with acappella groups from other universities around the country.
In 2014, 2017, & 2022, the Treblemakers competed in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, winning Third Place and the Best Soloist Award.
In 2016, we went on our first ever international tour to Asia.
In 2018, we went on our second tour in California.
In 2023, we went on our third tour in California!
