About Us

Editorial Policy

Storytellers from all walks of life have come together to represent one concept: progress and social change. To have Qatar as our home. The Phoenix has found itself on the crossroads between traditional and modern media. Not only this, we witness Qatar transform itself into a modern hub of economic and cultural progress.

To be able to tell stories in such a dynamic environment, The Phoenix stands by a principle that encourages storytellers to be authentic in search of their sources, to distinguish between newsworthy and implausible content and, most importantly, to bring forth stories that reshape the perspective of the Qatari population.

Our code of conduct revolves around gathering trustworthy sources and showcasing Qatar as its people see their Nation. While understanding both the opportunities and limitations of living in a globalized world, we strive to forge a bond with our readers based on authenticity and representation.

Above all, The Phoenix, as an organization hopes to publish content that supports the growing liberty of media in Qatar and participates in its transformational journey.

Why “The Phoenix”?

The majestic Phoenix bird represents transformation, rebirth, and renewal. In our perspective, an immortal creature continually rising from the ashes represents the media landscape because it is on its way to transforming the way we perceive information, in spite of its challenges. Similarly, Qatar, as a nation, is in the process of renewing itself into a platform for the international community. With two major entities going through their processes of change, we as journalists, aim to cover these stories and witness the transformation.

Therefore, the title of our news agency, The Phoenix is synonymous with constant change.
