James Aldred

James Aldred, President

James is a 2L pursuing a JD. Prior to Northwestern, James graduated at the top of his class with a BS in Accounting from Bryant University. After graduating, he worked for a small Rhode Island based CPA firm that focused on both preparing tax returns and tax planning for individuals, partnerships, and small corporations. James is interested in how taxation works on an international level and is planning to focus his study on this area. He is also a Boston sports fan and is always happy to discuss hockey.

Daniel Zylberberg

Daniel Zylberberg, Treasurer

Daniel is a 2L pursuing a joint JD/LLM in Tax at Northwestern. Prior to attending law school, he interned in the international tax department at PVH Corp., a Fortune 500 company, and in the state and local tax group at PricewaterhouseCoopers in NYC. He has also passed all four parts of the CPA exam and is awaiting official licensure. In his free time, he enjoys spending quality time with his son and is a (self-proclaimed) fantasy football aficionado.

Cayne Randle

Cayne Randle, VP of Communications

Cayne Randle is a second year student at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. Prior to law school, she managed the budget for her undergraduate student government and was a student representative on the Knox College Board of Trustees. Her current interests are remodeling work, baking, and running the lakefront.

Efrem Berk

Efrem Berk, VP of Programming

Efrem Berk is a 2L pursuing a JD. Prior to attending Northwestern, Efrem worked at the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, DC, where he oversaw the organization’s money market data, engaged in historical and current economics research, and coordinated on internal policy projects. He is deeply passionate about deciphering financial regulations and finance education to unleash innovation and expand individual economic opportunity. Efrem enjoys creative writing, traveling, Chicago Bears football, and opening up a new book from his ever-expanding reading list.

Dylan Steele

Dylan Steele, Section 1 Representative

Dylan is a 1L in the Joint JD-LLM in Taxation program. Born and raised in Miami, FL, before law school he lived and studied in Vermont, majoring in Philosophy. In his free time he enjoys cooking and curling up on the couch with his dog Ellie.

Ashley Alvarado

Ashley Alvarado, Section 2 Representative

Ashley is a 1L at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. Before law school, she graduated Summa Cum Laude from SUNY Old Westbury. She was involved in student government, model united nations, and started a multidisciplinary undergraduate research journal. After graduation, she worked in healthcare as a direct support professional, helped fundraise for student scholarships at her alma mater, and sat as a committee member on a local women’s networking organization.

She is interested in trying new foods, graphic novels, and tennis.

Heesang Yeo

Heesang Yeo, Section 2 Representative

Heesang is a first year student at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. Prior to law school, he worked as a manager at KPMG LLP, where he provided tax compliance and consulting services for clients in the alternative investment industry with a primary focus on partnership taxation of investment funds and operating partnerships. He is interested in practicing transactional tax law after graduation. In his free time, he enjoys going to the gym and is a big fan of soccer and a Liverpool FC supporter.

Alex Hyojung Roh

Alex Hyojung Roh, Section 2 Representative

Alex is a 1L at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. Prior to law school, she was a big law paralegal in Seoul, South Korea, assisting in diverse practice areas including project financing and international arbitration matters. Currently, she is interested in corporate tax planning and general cross-border transactional work. In her free time, Alex enjoys swimming and classical music.

Kai Fenty

Kai Fenty, Section 2 Representative

Kai is a 1L pursuing a JD. Prior to attending Northwestern Kai graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During his time there he worked for both the Attorney General of the state as part of the campaign team and as the Campaign manager on the mayoral elections in London. Ask him about anime recommendations, political news, or sports.

Amir Rezvani

Amir Rezvani is a 1L. He previously worked as a legal assistant in a civil litigation firm after receiving a History B.A. in 2020 from Yale. In his free time, he enjoys basketball and science fiction.

Sebastian Richardson

Sebastian is a first year law student from Portland, Oregon. Before coming to Northwestern, he was a graduate student in Fordham’s philosophy department where he taught intro philosophy and spent his days thinking about epistemology and ethics. In his free time he likes to cook, play guitar, and explore Chicago.

Abraham Kohn

Abraham grew up in NYC, and spent the previous three years living in Lakewood, NJ. This past summer he interned by the Hon. Judge Ruchelsman in NY. Abraham likes to travel and explore new places. He spends his free time with his two daughters.

Rafeh Motan

Rafeh Motan, Section 3 Representative

Rafeh is a 1L pursuing a JD. Prior to Northwestern, Rafeh was a Summa Cum Laude graduate from Saint Xavier University, where he was known for his ongoing research in global democratic trends and the effects of globalization. His work experience includes managing a local small business chain and he has worked on two election campaigns for a local government official.

Zachary is a 1L pursing a JD. He was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and graduated in May 2021 from New York University. During his undergraduate years he interned for local government on the legal and political sides. He also interned for a professional basketball team located in Europe.

Patrick Murphy

Patrick is a 3L in the joint degree JD-LLM in Taxation program. Before law school, he consulted international clients on tax automation and global incentive projects. He is interested in tax controversy and appellate litigation. His favorite work experience involved drafting government incentives in Victoria, Australia.
