Volunteering with the Ocean Plastics Recovery Project
In June 2021, Dayne was invited to join the Ocean Plastics Marine Debris and Recovery Expedition along the rugged coastlines of Kodiak, Alaska. Dayne was fortunate to spend a week living on the Island C, an 80-foot research vessel, getting his hands dirty removing plastic marine debris from the isolated beaches of Afognak Island, and interacting with the local high school volunteers. It was a transformative experience and we look forward to continuing our partnership with research, education, and service in the years to come. Please read more about the Ocean Plastics Recovery Project here and consider getting involved. Also please check out the work of documentary film maker Max Romey who captured the expedition and is credited for several of the images in the gallery below.
