Minimum Hardware Requirements for Student PCs

To ensure optimal performance, it is strongly recommended that your PC or Mac be no older than 3 years.  

Client Operating Systems: 

  • For PCs: Windows 11 64-bit Professional
  • For Macs: Mac OS Catalina or Higher

Hardware Requirements: 

  • PC: Intel® Core™ i5 Processor or a higher-end processor
  • MAC: Apple Mac OS M1 or a later version
  • A webcam, whether internal or external USB device 
  • USB 3.0, HDMI, Additional adapters as needed

Memory Requirements: 

  • At least 8GB of RAM 

Hard Drive Space Requirements: 

  • A minimum of 256GB Solid state disk (SSD)

Internet Connection: 

  • High-speed broadband Internet connection with a speed of 6Mbps or higher. You can check your internet speed at http://www.speedtest.net. 

Display: 

  • Integrated graphics

Web Browser/ Software: 

  • Firefox (Latest Stable Release)
  • Chrome
  • Microsoft Edge  
  • Safari

Please note that Mac OS is not compatible with Visio, SAS 9.2, or Oracle.
