Overview
This guide will help you use the Panopto Recorder software on Windows or macOS to record a webcam video. If you’re recording as part of a course development process, consult your instructional technologist for assistance.
Panopto Video Recording Guide
- First step: Install Panopto Recorder
- First sub-step: Go to the Northwestern Panopto site.
- Second sub-step: Sign in with your NetID and password or northwestern email.
- Third sub-step: Download the Panopto Recorder for your operating system (Windows or macOS).
- Fourth sub-step: Follow the on-screen installation instructions to complete the setup.
- Second step: Launch Panopto Recorder
- First sub-step: Open the Panopto Recorder application.
- Second sub-step: Complete the sign-in process using your Northwestern credentials.
- Third step: Configure Recording Settings
- First sub-step: Select the folder where your video will be saved.
- Second sub-step: Choose your camera and microphone from the input device options.
- Third sub-step: Adjust your recording settings, including frame rate and quality levels, to fit your needs.
- Fourth step: Record Your Video
- First sub-step: Press the Record button.
- Second sub-step: Follow along with your script while recording.
- Third sub-step: Once you’re done, press Stop to end the recording.
- Fifth step: Preview and Edit
- If you’re unsatisfied with the result, you can delete the video and record again.
- After recording, click Upload to save your video to Panopto.
