Consultations

The Distance Learning team is excited to consult with you about best practices for teaching and learning in your online class at the School of Professional Studies. Whether you are a new SPS instructor or have been teaching with us for many years, we want to ensure that we are available to assist you.

Although these consultations are offered by the Distance Learning team, instructors who teach face-to-face classes are welcome to schedule consultations.

Book Consultation Time With Us

Questions

30 minutes

Meet with one of the Learning Designers or Instructional Technologists on our team to ask questions about online learning topics, including but not limited to:

  • Developing learning objectives
  • Using rubrics
  • Creating instructional videos
  • Writing engaging discussion prompts
  • Composing assignment feedback

You may also consider this a “Meet and Greet” session, learning more about the Distance Learning team and SPS’s expectations for online learning.

Brainstorming

60 minutes

Meet with one of the Learning Designers or Instructional Technologists on our team to brainstorm ideas for your online course, including but not limited to:

  • Designing new assignments
  • Implementing engagement strategies for synchronous sessions
  • Using digital annotation tools

All instructors: please indicate the format of your class (online, hybrid, or face-to-face) when you schedule a consultation.
