Senior Learning Designer
2012
My career journey
I have a bachelor’s in psychology from Illinois Wesleyan University and a masters of science in education, counseling from Northern Illinois University.
My inspiration
I first learned about curriculum design while taking education classes as an undergrad in preparation for graduate study in counseling. The first lessons I designed were for a class called Multicultural Childrens Literature and covered the Cinderella story across different cultures.
Where I’m from/Where I am at
I spent most of my childhood in Toledo, Ohio, before moving to the south suburbs of Chicago in junior high. I currently live in the northern suburbs of Chicago.
My interests outside of work
I enjoy going for long bike rides, attending college basketball games, and embarking on overly ambitious craft projects.
Rewards of my job
The most rewarding thing about my job is knowing that I am supporting expanded access to a Northwestern education for people who cannot pause their lives to pursue higher education.
